Global namespaces can be the key to the efficient and effective file storage
management of files distributed across your enterprise. However, when
implementing a global namespace, links contained in existing files can
break due to the new pathing that is put into use with the global namespace.
This is a
problem that LinkFixerPlus Gold has been designed to solve, particulary
when working with linked files during a data migration or when implementing
a global namespace using products such as: Brocade StorageX, EMC Rainfinity,
Attune Systems Maestro™ or F5 Acopia FreedomFabric™.
LinkFixerPlus
Gold allows for a wide variety of files (such as Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Access, Windows Shortcuts, AutoCAD, PDF, InDesign, PageMaker,
HTML, Flash and others) to have their file links automatically
fixed when implementing a global namespace!
Using
LinkFixerPlus Gold, broken links (such as hyperlinks, object links, paste-special
links and image links) can also be automatically repaired when
files are moved or renamed such as during a data migration. Or, if files
have already been moved or renamed, LinkFixerPlus can be used to
automatically fix links in the moved or renamed files.
Additionally,
LinkFixerPlus Gold can be used to easily create a variety of detailed
reports, including broken link reports, that show all of the links within
files that are not working properly. The reporting allows you to identify,
quantify and qualify links contained in files so that you can also perform
a risk analysis prior to making any changes.
